The Raiders and its controversial owner Al Davis have returned to their original dominion of Oakland, and many fans have mixed feelings receiving them.
"The Raiders and their owners are both sellouts," said Oakland resident Jalil Ali. "If the people of Oakland had any type of pride they would boycott the games and hopefully send Davis and his team back to their cave in Los Angeles."
Tickets are $45 to $50 a game; season tickets are $450 to $1600.
Laura Wheat, of El Sobrante, said, "The tickets are expensive but if people are buying them then the Raiders should sell them."
Freemont resident Chris Lee said, "It is good that Oakland residents wanted them to come back. It shows the devotion that they have."
Everyone interviewed seemed to agree unanimously that the team's return would create jobs and add to the Oakland economy. However, many do not forgive and forget that Davis left the San Francisco Bay Area for money without even thinking twice about the faithful fan base in Oakland.
"Davis thinks he can come back and Oakland will just accept him but it's not like that; everyone I know including myself is not ready for all that forgiveness," said Sam Hill, of Oakland. "The tickets cost too much for a team that has not won a Super Bowl since the 1970s."
Zachary Hile, of Oakland, disagreed. "The Bay Area loves the Raiders and people don't really care about how much the tickets cost," he said.
