Troy Buckner-Nkrumah in his column (Golden Gater, May 4) made numerous false accusations and bigoted remarks against Jews and displayed a nearly total lack of respect for himself and other types of people he has some need to hate. I wish that the Golden Gater could have provided me with as much space as Buckner-Nkrumah to rebut all of his repugnant remarks.
Troy: when did you become a Jew-hater? Is it your frustrated inner child trying to express some repressed feelings from your past? There are psychological counseling services on this campus to help you deal with those issues. Venting your warped attitudes toward Jews by running for student office isn't an effective way to deal with your emotional issues.
Troy: if you could insult President Corrigan for his position against bigotry, it shows that perhaps you haven't been raised properly. You need to be "taken to school" to learn how to show respect and tolerance for beliefs you don't espouse -- especially since my hunch is that you'll never positively achieve even a fraction of what Corrigan has achieved in his life.
But I think I should also respond to "Rabbi" Buckner-Nkrumah's sermon on how, stated in his column, "we tried to teach the university the difference between Zionism and Judaism."
Does Buckner-Nkrumah know how many hundreds of times the integral bond between the Jewish people and the Land of Israel -- Zion -- is clearly expressed in the Jewish Bible, scriptures, and prayers? I think he is quite -- conveniently -- ignorant of that point. Nevertheless, he has appointed himself to explain Judaism and Zionism, two beliefs which he knows little about.
Furthermore, "Rabbi" Buckner-Nkrumah, do you know how many of the 613 commandments in the Jewish Bible can only be fulfilled in the Land of Israel/Zion?! More than half of them!
Buckner-Nkrumah -- esteemed international relations major -- not all arrived in Israel after Columbus set foot in this hemisphere. The Jewish people were thrown out of their land by the Romans, Persians, Moslems, Turks, Brits, etc. The Jews have always tried to live in peace and be fair with the Arabs.
Arab leaders say we "took land" when Jews returning to Israel from exile legally bought land from numerous wealthy Arab landlords, "effendis", or because we won a war. However, Buckner-Nkrumah and his types don't accord the Jews returning to Israel the common accepted notions of being able to legitimately return to their indigenous and religious homeland: the Land of Israel.
From both secular, religious -- Jewish -- points of view, the Jews have many rights to return to their homeland in "Zion."
But Jew-haters like you want to finish the job that Hitler started. At least the Nazis admitted that they hated Jews.
Troy, you hate Jews. Your statement "...the Zionist is a prime enemy of the black struggle...They...mislead...degrade our people...in the record, television and..." Enough of the "baby babble" Troy. You hate Jews. At least Farrakhan and Jeffries have the dignity to admit that they do, but you don't.
Troy, I hate you because I know what people like you will do to Jews when you win an election -- whether it occurs at SF State or elsewhere. Therefore, I must honestly conclude that the only good Jew-hater is a dead Jew-hater.
The nation of Israel has outlived people like you for 2,000 years.
