After reading "Police take AS representative from campus in handcuffs" (Gater, Feb. 23), I felt compelled to respond. The article stated that, "AS distributed a flyer that said the arrest violated the rights of all students and contradicted prescribed policy."
If so, then what were the specific rights? How were my rights, as one student, violated by the arrest of someone else for an alleged parole violation? Are students of S.F. State accorded special rights, with respect to judicial arrest procedures, that are not inherent to the remainder of the populace? Or are we all created with equal rights?
