When Unity members moved to disqualify the entire Student Struggle slate instead of trying their luck at another election, they complained a re-election would be too expensive and time consuming. But what costs more time and money than another election? A lawsuit. And what's worse, Unity members apparently expected it. Upon leaving the legislature meeting where it was decided to disqualify the slate, now President-elect Troy Buckner-Nkrumah said he expected the disqualified slate to file an injunction in San Francisco Superior Court. Student Struggle did just that, but with a pro-bono lawyer. AS has been shopping around for their own lawyer, but as of yet, we're told, has been unable to find one. But with a $2 million budget, why worry? They can afford the best. So why are Unity members -- the majority of AS -- crying about time and money? They didn't shed a tear when they took a pleasant paid-retreat in Tiburon for the newly appointed government two weekends ago, which in past years has cost over $5,000. No. They can afford to spend a little time and money. Each one of us shells out $42 a semester to make sure they can. Stop wasting our time and money and act like a student government should. Represent the students. The only ones who are running out of time, money and patience are us.
