
The SF State women's soccer team notched its first victory of the season during last weekend's Cal State Bakersfield Roadrunner Classic.
On Sunday -- the second day of competition -- Cal State Los Angeles was shut out by the Gators 2-0. Freshman Tina Nishikawa was the first to score unassisted on a breakaway to the left side.
Just a minute later, SF State senior Monica Hummer followed her lead with a breakaway of her own to score unassisted on the left side. Both goals were scored in the second half.
The Gators outshot CSLA 16 to 5.
SF State loss its first game of the tournament to Cal State Bakersfield 4-0. The Roadrunner's goalie could of taken a day off as the Gators couldn't muster a shot on goal. The team was overwhelmed when they were outshot 24 to 0.
Gator highlights included all-tournament selections for Monica Hummer and Teresa Fox.
SF State improved its record to 1-2-1 on the season.
