CCRI ends racism

Dear editor,

In response to your editorial on Sept. 19 on Proposition 209, I fail to see how eliminating race as a qualifier for anything is a determent to anyone. The goal of the Civil Rights Movement is to end race-based privileges, and that is what Proposition 209 does. To say that any group of people needs special race-based privileges can only fan the flames of ignorance and discrimination.
