SF State men's swim team took on Stanford on Friday confident after coming off its first-ever win over UC-Davis last Saturday. The Cardinals proved too strong, though, for the Gators, winning 96-80 overall at the Gator Aquatics Center.
SF State displayed some fine individual performances, though. Yai Paomahanaka won the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:04.53. In a tight battle, Gator Ray Florentinus finished second in the 50-yard freestyle less than one-tenth of a second behind the winner, Cardinal Steve Ronson. Florentinus also ended second in the 100-yard butterfly and was on the winning 200-yard medley relay.
