The review of the movie "Strange Days" (Bad cops, bad flick 10-10-95) neglected to mention a brutal rape scene the lead male actor is shown enjoying. Through a virtual reality CD -- which is a recording of an actual rape -- the actor experiences himself in place of the real-life rapist, complete with an orgasm in stereo sound. The film's depiction is an insult to everyone.
As a survivor of rape -- and I am certainly not the only survivor that was in the audience -- I am deeply insulted that SF State's Associated Student's Performing Arts would bring this film to SF State. I am calling on the A.S. Performing Arts to issue a public apology for showing this film. Also, I encourage everyone to call AT&T and protest their sponsorship of this film. I call on everyone to protest rape.
