Unity (Achdut in Hebrew) among the Jewish nation is the guarantor of our national liberation -- which is manifested in our state of Israel -- not the blind hatred (Sin'at Chinam) we all too often see expressed by one Jew to another. There is no place for the blind hatred. I thought we left fratricidal hatred back in the days of the War for Independence.
Former Prime Minister and Defense Minister Rabin recently said, "Enough of blood and tears." I will add, "Enough of blind hatred." Let's show more love towards one another. Jews living in Tel-Aviv must love Jews living in Hebron and vice versa.
All Jews are brothers and sisters who are consigned to a common destiny, which we must all ensure will be full of unity and love among our great Jewish nation.
I grieve at the loss of the murder of Yitzhak Rabin. I cannot emphasize enough how un-Jewish, inhuman and wrong it is to murder another Jew.
