Thursday, Nov. 2

Free show! The Simon White Quartet will be playing at the Depot from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Associated Students Performing Arts presents Leonard Weinglass, defense attorney for Mumia Abu-Jamal. He will be speaking at Jack Adams Hall at noon. Admission is free.

Faculty members Paul Yarbrough and William Corbett-Jones will be giving viola and piano recitals at Knuth Hall at 8 p.m. Tickets are $3.50 for students with ID, $5 general admission.

Friday, Nov. 3

The University Choir, under the direction of J. Scott Goble, will perform at Knuth Hall at 1 p.m. Admission is free.

Weekend, Nov. 3-4

14th Annual Encuentro del Canto Popular (Latin American Music Festival) presents a tribute to Latin American women in new song movement. Performers include Tish Hinojose and Cecilia Tioussaint. Events begin at 7:30 p.m. in the Center for the Arts at Yerba Buena Gardens, San Francisco, both days. For details call 252-5957.

Tuesday, Nov. 7 and Wednesday, Nov. 8.
The Depot presents the film "The Professional," the story of a lonely hit man who befriends a young runaway girl. The film will be shown both days at 5 p.m.
