The media industry comprises many diverse setups, from the small-town weekly to the mega-TV network and everything in between. Pay ranges from slave wages to decent salaries and benefits, most often associated with unionized shops. The goal of GUILDNET-L, initially set up by the Canadian Media Guild-sponsored GuildNet BBS, is to foster awareness and discussion of the realities of working journalists in their workday lives and to exchange ideas on improving things. Questions, comments and suggestions are always welcome, but please, no job postings or job seekers.
