Jesse covered California for the Associated Press graphics department in San Francisco, and also designed Web sites and interactive applications for AP employees and clients. Previously for the AP, Jesse was art director of the graphics department in New York, directing coverage of the September 11, 2001 attacks on America, the U.S. wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, and the crash of the Space Shuttle Columbia.

Before joining the AP, Jesse led Examiner.com for the Hearst-owned San Francisco Examiner, and directed online operations in the San Francisco Chronicle newsroom for SFGate.com. Jesse attended San Francisco State University as a Journalism major, where he was editor of the Golden Gater in 1998.
