Assistant Professor Yumi Wilson

Teaches newswriting, reporting, journalism history, newspaper editing, depth reporting, feature writing, diversity, and publication laboratory courses. B.A., print journalism, minor in international relations, University of Southern California. Most recent position: deputy readers representative (omsbudsperson), San Francisco Chronicle. Creative/professional interests include multi-ethnic family life, diversity issues in journalism, campaign finance. As a reporter for the Associated Press reporter and the SF Chronicle, wrote hundreds of stories about the courts, urban affairs, politics, domestic violence, poverty, affirmative action. Special awards, honors: Fulbright Research Scholar in Japan, 2001. Journalism Fellow, U. Michigan, 2000-2001. Contra Cost Press Club first- place award, "Feature Writing."
