Teaches
mass communications law in the spring. A graduate of Stanford
University where he majored in journalism and Hastings College
of Law; he is a litigation attorney who specializes in First
Amendment and criminal cases. He has litigated numerous constitutional
challenges to state and federal law. He is a partner at Kerr
& Wagstaffe, a firm that engages in a trial and appellate practice,
specializing in commercial litigation, First Amendment matters,
employment cases and class actions. Wagstaffe is the co-author
of Commencing and Removing Actions of Federal Court.
Since 1984, he has represented the Journalism Department student
publications on a pro bono basis.
