Hearst Journalism Awards Program:

Trey Bundy won first place in the Feature Writing competition and was a finalist in the National Writing Championship in addition to receiving Article of the Year award. 

Brian Frank won second place in the Hearst Picture Story/Series competition and in the National Photojournalism championship.

Ali Tabatabai and Khari Johnson placed 4th & 7th place in the Multimedia competition.

Adam Lau placed 18th in the Portrait, Feature & Personal Vision photojournalism competition. Chris McGuire placed 10th place in the News & Sport photojournalism competition.

SPJ Mark of Excellence Awards, Region 11:

Trey Bundy won first place for Feature Writing in the SPJ Region 11 Mark of Excellence Awards competition and second place for Non-Fiction Article.

Golden Gate Xpress won third place for Best All-Around Non-Daily Student Newspaper in the SPJ Region 11 Mark of Excellence content.
